The NSW Government is creating a Transport Master Plan for the next 20 years - and it's vital that the voices of young people and those that work with young people are included.
So - to make it as easy as possible, YAPA has put together an online survey for young people and youth workers to fill out - that's you!
What do you need to do?
Go here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YAPATransportMasterplan
If you're interested in getting further involved, leave a contact number or email at the end of the survey.
What will happen with the information?
YAPA will use your feedback to create a submission to the Transport Masterplan - it will include examples of how young people use transport and how it can be improved.
We'd also like to support you and young people you work with to send ideas in as a personal submission - information on that is in the survey.
If you have any questions:
Give me a call or drop me an email!
8218 9815 or policy@yapa.org.au
Cheers,
Eamon Waterford I Director - Policy & Advocacy I

The state government is putting together the Transport Master Plan, which will inform what transport gets built over the next 10 years or so.
It's really important that young people, older people, people with disabilities and Aboriginal people and communities have a voice on this issue - they're the ones that are catching public transport to school, work, shopping, social outings every day, as you would be aware.
It’s also import that service providers and groups who are advocates for groups that are transport disadvantaged have the opportunity to have some input into this consultation process on behalf of their target groups.
For your area, there is an open meeting where anyone can go along and let the government know what transport is like in your area on
Thursday 19 April at 6pm-8pm.
Tamworth Historic Town Hall, Fitzroy Street, Tamworth
They have specific questions they are focussing on, which I've summarised:
All of NSW
· How important are the following things for you to have in public transport:
· Frequency of public transport services?
· Reliability of the timetable and public transport services?
· Cleanliness of public transport?
· Safety on public transport?
· How can we encourage people to walk and cycle?
· Do you ever have to use more than one type of transport to travel (car/bus/train/light rail/cycling)? What would make it easier to change from one type to another during a trip?
· What are the biggest transport issues facing your area?
· How can government and non-government organizations work together on transport? Can you think of any good examples where this has worked in your area?
If you would like to attend this consultation, you should email masterplan@transport.nsw.gov.au or call 02 8202 2611 and let them know. They're asking for a week's notice.
Can't make it to the consultations? - don't worry!
You can still have your say by sending a submission.

UNSW is investigating how websites influence the way we view the world, and we want your input.
It is almost impossible to exist without the internet these days. More than ever, we are spending time online; for our social lives, entertainment and learning.
Research has investigated the dark side of online sites and games, particularly the negative effects they can have on people under 18. Even though it puts the world at your fingertips, the internet has a bad reputation when it comes to ‘what is good for you’. But we aren’t convinced that’s the whole story.
Join the study to help us find out more about the internet and how it impacts the way you think, react and interact with those around you. All you have to do is play.
You can take part if you are:
· Aged 12 – 18 years old
· An Australian citizen
· Have an email address and internet access somewhere
· Your parents are OK with you doing the study (if you are under the age of 16)
Sign up at www.uviewtheworld.org.au to take part.
