The “Youthie” is a drop-in youth centre servicing young people aged 12 - 18 years of age in the Tamworth area. The Youthie is operated by the Tamworth Regional Council and offers a variety of recreational, sports, technology, arts and music based activities. During the school holidays a comprehensive program of activities are organised that young people can become involved with. The “Youthie” is also the meeting place for the Tamworth Youth Advisory, is the hub of annual Youthweek activities in the Tamworth region, and presents regular youth entertainment events in the form of disco’s and live bands. Coming Up: Thursday 31st March: Youthie Open 1.30-7pm. Youth Services Information and Display at Tamworth Shoppingworld. In partnership with Tamworth Family Support Service and Youth Insearch.

Friday 1st April: Youthie Open 1.30-7pm. Disco at the Manilla Town Hall from 6-8pm. For more information contact the Manilla Office of Tamworth Regional Council on 6761 0200.

Saturday 2nd April: Youthie Open 12-7pm. Youthweek Pool Competition 2pm – win prizes. Table Tennis Competition at 4pm – win prizes. Youthweek Showcase at the Tamworth Capitol Theatre from 7.30pm. This will be the second time a talent showcase has been held during Youthweek at the Capitol. Acts will get the opportunity to perform on the best sounding stage in Tamworth with the chance to share in some great prizes. Tamworth based artists/bands aged 12-25 years are encouraged to put their names down. For more information contact The Youthie on 6766 4645. Sunday 3rd April: Youthie Closed. Competition at the Tamworth Skate Park from 2pm. A Freestyle BMX, Skateboarding and Scooter competition with loads of prizes. Proudly supported Xtreme Cycles and Dope Riders MX Australia.

Tuesday 5th April: Youthie Open 1.30-7pm. Xbox 360 Competition from 4pm – win prizes.

Youthweek 2011: The dates for Youthweek 2011 are 1st-10th April. The program is available for viewing and downloading at www.theyouthie.org.
